Gran Canaria changes with the seasons, the weather and the light. Before and between our main stops, we take time to discover what the island has to offer that day.

And the journey itself is part of the experience. We don’t simply drive you from one place to another or spend the day giving you a lecture. We want you to look, wonder, ask questions and sometimes find the answers yourself.

Sometimes the stories are about Gran Canaria. Sometimes they’re about our own families and the people who came before us. Old photographs, images and music help bring those stories — and the landscape outside the window — to life.

01 · TEJEDA

At your own pace

By the time we reach Tejeda, the journey has already begun. We have crossed changing landscapes, shared stories about the island and made several stops along the way.

In Tejeda, it’s time to explore on your own. We’ll give you your picnic, show you what you can visit and point out the cafés, small shops and places where you can try some of the village’s famous almond pastries.

We usually arrive before many of the larger tours, when the village is still a little quieter. We’ll agree on a meeting time and give you enough time to enjoy your picnic and discover one of Gran Canaria’s most beautiful mountain villages at your own pace.

02 · PICO DE LAS NIEVES

Looking beyond the view

At Pico de las Nieves, reaching one of the highest points of Gran Canaria is only the beginning.

From up here, we don’t just look at the view. We help you read it: the populated coast, the mountains and valleys of the interior, and the enormous contrasts packed into such a small island.

And then we look further. On a clear day, Tenerife rises beyond Gran Canaria. Sometimes the atmosphere gives us something more.

What will we see on your day? We honestly don’t know.

03 · CALDERA DE LOS MARTELES

More than a volcanic crater

Caldera de los Marteles is one of the clearest reminders that Gran Canaria was shaped by volcanoes. But the crater in front of us is only part of the story.

We look beyond the caldera to discover other volcanic features in the surrounding landscape — and how people have learned to live and work in a landscape shaped by lava.

Depending on the season, this place can look completely different. Once again, some of the most interesting things are not necessarily the most obvious ones.

04 · AGÜIMES

From landscapes to people

After spending much of the day looking at Gran Canaria on a grand scale, Agüimes brings us closer to the people who have shaped the island.

We walk together through the narrow streets of its historic centre, discovering traditional architecture, local traditions and some of the stories that connect this old Canarian town with our own family history.

And whenever we get the chance, we go beyond the facades. Traditional patios and old houses reveal another side of Canarian life that is easy to miss when you simply walk past.

Gran Canaria doesn’t always look the same. Seasons change, clouds move, flowers appear and, after the rain, water can suddenly transform the landscape.

Some of our favourite moments happen between the places on the itinerary — when the island gives us a reason to stop, look a little closer or simply enjoy what is happening that day.

We pick up from six designated meeting points in Maspalomas:

Why don’t you offer hotel pickup?

We use designated meeting points so we can spend more of the day exploring Gran Canaria and less time driving from hotel to hotel collecting passengers. The six pickup points are located across the Maspalomas area so you can choose the most convenient one for you.

Is this tour physically demanding?

No. This is mainly a sightseeing tour with light physical activity and short walks during some of the stops. You should be comfortable walking on your own and spending some time on your feet.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection. Weather conditions in the mountains can be very different from the coast, so the day before the tour we’ll check the forecast and let you know what clothing we recommend for the conditions.

Is the picnic included?

Yes. We provide a freshly prepared picnic with a baguette, fruit and a chocolate bar, made with local products.

What language is the tour in?

The tour is conducted in English and Spanish. Depending on the group, explanations may be given in both languages.

I get motion sickness. Is this tour suitable for me?

The route includes winding mountain roads. If you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking your usual precautions before the tour.

How long is the tour?

The tour lasts approximately 6.5 hours. Pickup and drop-off time is not included in the tour duration.

Does the itinerary ever change?

Tejeda, Pico de las Nieves, Caldera de los Marteles and Agüimes are the four main highlights of the tour. Smaller stops and moments along the way may vary depending on the season, weather, visibility and what the island has to offer that day.

Can I do this experience as a private tour?

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the activity, we will refund the amount paid, minus a 10% administration fee per passenger.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the activity are non-refundable.

No refund will be provided in the event of a no-show, a delay that prevents the activity from taking place, failure to follow safety instructions, or if a participant is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Sky Rebels also reserves the right to exclude a participant from the activity, without refund, in the event of inappropriate or abusive behaviour towards the guides, other participants or third parties, or any behaviour that may affect the safety or enjoyment of the group.

If Sky Rebels has to cancel the activity for technical or weather-related reasons, you will receive a full refund.
