The 6 lighthouses in Gran Canaria

Paragliding Faro de Maspalomas Gran Canaria

Punta del Castillete lighthouse

In the southwest of the island, located on Puerto de Mogán. It is the most modern lighthouse of all (construction was completed in 1996). There is the possibility of reaching its summit through a steep path from the port to enjoy the views of “the Venice of the Canary Islands”.

What are you going to see? Take advantage of this visit to get lost in the cosy streets of Puerto de Mogán. Enjoy a walk through its beautiful harbour and eat at any of the fantastic restaurants in the area.

Arinaga lighthouse

Actually, we should talk about “the lighthouses of Arinaga” since there are two. The first of them, the work of Juan de León y Castillo, was built at the end of the 19th century. In the 80s of the 20th century, the construction of a new lighthouse located a few meters to the left of the previous one was started with the aim of improving the installation. Although interestingly, the lantern of the old lighthouse was used.

What are you going to see? This lighthouse is located east of Gran Canaria, on the Bay of Gando; in one of the windiest areas of the island. Is part of one of the points of a visit on our private tours and we guarantee that you will be surprised.

Sardina lighthouse

In the extreme northwest of Gran Canaria, about 20 minutes by car from the Port of Agaete; the Sardina Lighthouse is located.

What are you going to see? To get to this unique place you have to cross several banana plantations, one of the most important crops in this area. The views of the sunset from this point along with the raging sea make it an essential place to visit for lovers of landscapes and nature.

Maspalomas lighthouse

Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) by the government of the Canary Islands; it is the most emblematic lighthouse in Gran Canaria and, in our opinion, the most spectacular. It is located to the west of the Dunes of Maspalomas and is the point of entry to this impressive beach of golden sand.

What are you going to see? A walk from the promenade of Meloneras or from the Dunes will take you to this unique point. But we propose a different and unique way to discover it in one of our paratrike flights (paramotor, powered paragliding).

Taliarte lighthouse

At the north of the airport of Gran Canaria, in the coastal area of Telde, we can find this lighthouse. It is located between Melenara Beach, famous for being one of the best-kept local beaches and for its excellent restaurants on the beach; and Playa del Hombre, an essential place for experienced divers.

What are you going to see? This is one of the places where you can discover how local people live. A quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. We challenge you to find Neptune!

La Isleta lighthouse

The district of La Isleta is one of the most traditional neighbourhoods of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Thus, its residents feel proud to belong to this humble neighbourhood that emerged with the development of the Port of Las Palmas. To the north of the same is this spectacular lighthouse; from which we can contemplate a beautiful view of the Playa de las Canteras.

What are you going to see? The visit to the capital of Gran Canaria is something that you should not miss. Vegueta, Las Canteras, shopping areas, surfing … an ideal place for lovers of the urban.
